Summer Reading 2025!
June 28th - August 16th
Reading Program:
Every summer we host a reading challenge where you read and earn prizes. For every 15 minutes you read, you mark a box off on your log until you have read for 5 hours. When your reading log is filled out, bring it back to the library to get a pizza slice coupon and turn your log in as a raffle ticket.

Summer Reading Party!
Saturday, June 28th. 11:00am-1:00pm
Summer Reading 2025 is here and we are ready for Color Our World! Stop by the library to sign up for our reading program, make some art, and have some ice cream sundaes! No registration required.
Tie-Dye Tuesday!
Tuesday, July 8th. 10:00am-1:00pm
Our annual Tie-Dye Day is here! Bring a washed cotton t-shirt to the library to make some homemade tie-dye! All ages are welcome, no registration required. Wayne County Public Health will be distributing free bike helmets and Girl Scouts will be here with information on their programs!
Babysitting Course
Thursday, July 10th. 11:00am-3:00pm
For students ages 11-15, this 4-hour class teaches the roles and responsibilities of being a babysitter. It includes classroom discussion, instructor-led lectures, and an interactive video, covering accident prevention, first aid, and ages and stages expectations..
Each student will receive a certification card upon completion. Lunch will be provided, registration required.
Teens Only Gaming
Friday, July 18th. 3:00pm-4:00pm
Take some time and come play Mario Kart, Mario Party, or Super Smash Bros with some friends! For ages 12-18, no registration required.
Crafternoon! Printmaking
Tuesday, July 22nd. 2:00pm-4:00pm
Let’s get crafting and make some amazing prints! All ages are welcome, however children under 5 may need assistance from a caregiver. No registration required
Creative Writing Workshop: How to make a D and D Character Backstory
Thursday, July 24th. 3:00pm-4:30pm
We are exploring the art of creative writing! Participants will get to learn the basic building blocks of making a character sheet for Dungeons and Dragons and then we will be making that character’s backstory. This activity is for ages 12-18 and registration is required. Participants may bring laptops/chrome books or they are welcome to write pen and paper style.
Teens Only Gaming
Friday, July 30th. 6:00pm-7:00pm
Take some time and come play Mario Kart, Mario Party, or Super Smash Bros with some friends! For ages 12-18, no registration required.
Canvas Creations
Thursday, July 31st. 3:00pm-4:30pm
Take some time to make some art! Stop in for canvas creations where the library provides the supplies and you create anything you like. For ages 12-18. Sign up is requested, but not required.
Messy Art Day
Tuesday, August 5th. 1:00pm-4:00pm
Stop by the library any time during the program to make some messy art! There will be frisbee painting, slap art, and more! We will be outside so this program will be weather dependent. Check the library’s website or Facebook page for notice of cancellation. All ages welcome, no registration required.
Crafternoon! Friendship Bracelets
Tuesday, August 12th. 2:00pm-4:00pm
Let’s get crafting and make some friendship bracelets! All ages are welcome, however children under 5 may need assistance from a caregiver. No registration required.
End of Summer Art Show
Saturday, August 16th. 10:00am-12:00pm
The summer is coming to a close! This year our theme has been Color Our World and so we will be saying good by to summer with a community art show! To enter your art please fill out our artist form and bring your artwork to the library by 8/13/2025. Along with seeing the art from amazing local artists, there will be free ice cream! This is also the last day to submit your Summer Reading minutes!!
