Teen Summer Reading will run from July 6th to August 15th, 2020!
For our 2020 Teen Summer Reading program, we are happy to be using READsquared to help you log your reading minutes from home! Our website can be found here, or it can be accessed via app on both Apple and Android devices. If you are having trouble with READsquared, please try this help sheet, call the library at (315) 589-2048 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would prefer to use paper logging, you can request forms using our contactless pickup, or else download a copy to print yourself. Physical sheets can be returned at any time via our book dropbox.
For each 300 minutes of reading you log, you will be entered once into our random prize drawing. Two random winners will receive a $25 Visa gift card, while our top reader will win a grand prize package including the same Visa gift card as well as several other gift cards to local businesses.
In addition to reading, you can also earn points for summer reading by completing missions in READsquared. For each day of summer reading, there will be a different challenge you must complete. If you complete every challenge in a set, you will earn 100 points towards summer reading, as well as a virtual badge. Once you set up your READsquared account, check out the "missions" tab to see more information about these challenges!
Lastly, we will be providing a different grab-and-go craft bag every week during summer reading. Each bag will contain the materials for a craft (except a few simple things you can find at home), written instructions, and a link to a video tutorial. These bags are limited and first come, first served, so make sure you reserve a bag early! For more information about what these will be and when and how to reserve one, check out our Upcoming Activities page.
We will miss seeing you in the library this summer, but we hope that you will enjoy our program anyway. Stay healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing you in the library soon!
